Instructors

Jessica Frickey
Voice|Piano|Clarinet
Jessica has always been singing (humming, anyways!) and interested in music since before she could speak. She was always part of the band and choir since elementary school, having the opportunities to participate in all-state, district, and parish honor choir/band. She has also enjoyed singing and playing the piano for different worship teams over the years since high school. She attended Nicholls State University on a music scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor or Arts in Vocal Music Education in December 2014. At Nicholls, she participated in many ensembles: choir (where she had the opportunity to be president for one year), chamber singers, and band. Teaching private clarinet and vocal lessons during this time helped her to hone her craft as well. After graduating, she was received the Vocal Music Major of the Year award for 2014-2015. Jessica has a passion for music and it's ability to allow one to express their deepest emotions and yet engage the logical side as well. It truly is an all-encompassing tool that helps students to grow in many areas and Jessica is passionate about showing students how to tap into that!

Alyssa Gaudet
Voice|Piano|Ukulele
Alyssa Gaudet showed an interest in music at a young age and began writing her own vocal music at age 9. She started private vocal lessons at age 12 before joining the high school choir where she participated in performances and competitions. She received a scholarship to Nicholls State University and participated in the opera, choir, and two jazz bands. Alyssa graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor's of Arts in Vocal Music Education. In addition to teaching at Brushworks, she also performs with Beau Autin at local venues. Alyssa won the local singing competition called "One: Singing Competition", and is now working on her first EP. Alyssa finds music and art not only a wonderful outlet, but also an important value in all children's education; and she finds joy in being a part of that.
Recitals & Concerts

Brushworks students have the opportunity to perform in our annual recitals and concerts for family and friends. Performances are held at our facility on our performance stage room.
Piano and voice recitals alternate Fall and Winter. Rock Band, Synth Pop Groups and guitar and drum concerts are held every Spring.
